The Gilder Creek Daybook
Everything in the file.
A dated PDF planner covering a full year, built screen-first for iPad. This page is about the file itself: each page type, how the links work, and the sizing details worth knowing before you buy.
Applies toAll four planner products
The pages below are the classic layout, shown in Espresso Linen. That's what the ready-made editions contain. If you'd rather have a different day or week page, those are chosen when you customize, and the layouts page shows all thirteen.
Navigation
Getting to the right page
A year of pages is no good if you can't get to the right one fast. Every route through the Daybook is a link.
- A tab strip down the edge of every page: Home, Year, and each of the twelve months
- Dates on the year and month pages jump straight to that day
- Week and day headers move you up a level or forward a step
- Nothing is buried more than a couple of taps deep
Links are tappable when your app is in its read-only viewing mode. Switch back to writing and the page behaves like paper again.
What arrives
When you choose your week start and date format
Both orientations come with every edition, and either way you end up with the week start and date format you wanted. The only difference is whether that gets decided before the planner is built or after you download it.
The classic edition
Eight PDFs, and you keep them all. Landscape and portrait, each in Sunday and Monday week starts, each in US and international formats.
An instant download can't ask you a question, so every combination is in the zip rather than making you commit at checkout. You don't have to know your own preference in advance, you can change your mind in March, and there's no version you didn't buy.
Customized or personalized
Two PDFs, built to your answers. Landscape and portrait, in the week start and format you chose.
This one is generated after you order, so the choosing happens on the order form instead. The file you open is already the right one.
Either way
- A START HERE guide in your theme
- The free 20-piece Elements starter
- Yours to keep, with nothing to renew
- The original file stays clean, so you can start fresh mid-year
Both orientations
Landscape and portrait
Maybe you have a preferred orientation, maybe you like both, or maybe you're not sure yet. Both come in your theme, so you can try each.
The fine print, plainly
Format and sizing.
This is what the file actually is. If any of it rules the Daybook out for you, better to know now than after you've paid.
| File | Hyperlinked PDF, designed screen-first for iPad. No app to install. |
|---|---|
| Pages | 433 in the standard edition: year at a glance, 12 month spreads, 53 week spreads, and a page for every day. |
| Page size | Landscape 10″ × 7.1″ (about 1.41:1) · portrait 7.1″ × 10″. |
| On screen | Sized for the 11-inch iPad, so pages fill the screen with essentially no letterboxing. On 4:3 iPads and Android tablets you will see a slim margin. |
| Works with | GoodNotes, Notability, and any app that annotates PDFs, including Noteshelf, Samsung Notes, and Xodo on Android tablets. |
| Printing | It prints fine, but it is built for tablets. These are not US Letter pages. |
| Delivery | Instant download for the classic editions. The made-to-order edition is built for you and sent within 1 to 3 business days. |
| License | Personal use. Yours to keep. Please do not resell or share the files. |
